Grade-Level: All Staff Activity Title: STEAM School-wide Survey Subject: Survey When: Number of Teachers: 23 General Educators, as well as additional Educational Associates Description: Staff were sent a survey regarding the school's current STEAM program. In the survey done through Google Forms, teachers were asked what the strengths as well as the weaknesses present inside the school's program. The STEAM task force plans to use this data to inform the team of where their effort toward improvement should be focused.
Bee Safety Training
Grade-Level: All Staff Activity Title: Bee Safety Training Subject: How to handle and maintain lifestyles with bees in the school community. When: TBD Number of Teachers: 23 General Educators, as well as additional Educational Associates Description: A full staff training for bee safety was conducted at Arlington Elementary School Via the virtual platform. Topics discussed included the following; bee safety, planning and zoning, what to do in an emergency, invasive species and creating a sustainable system. The staff was also epi-pen trained.

Description: During this meeting teachers were introduced to the Green School Program. Many teachers attended a meeting in previous years explaining the program. This meeting reiterated information for new staff and individuals who wanted to begin participating in programs. This full staff meeting was held to review the requirements for the MAEOE application. Specific elements still in need were distributed to teachers for completion. Teachers brainstormed different whole-school incentives and programs that could be established in the next few months.
Grade-Level: All Staff Activity Title: Maryland Green School Program and Environmental Education Opportunities. Subject: Updates on individual teacher requirements for application Teacher(s): All Staff, facilitated by Thompson at Team Meetings (23 General Educators) as well as additional Educational Associates. When: February 7th, 2019 Description: During team meeting, the administration allowed the Green Leader, Ms. Thompson, to work with teachers and plan environmental interludes into their lessons. Topics included recycling, air quality, environmental literacy and a variety of other topics. Teachers used their lesson plans previously created and developed additional activities that focused on choice green topics. The subject areas present were mathematics, science, ESOL and ELA. The grade levels present were 3rd through 8th.
